IT IS TIME

It is time.

It is time to realize that unavoidable time has arrived.

It is time when professional life, career, business, and all that demanded, no longer serves.

It is that time that the purveyor of futures, the reader of minds and hearts, the insight transmitter, the recognized voice heard industry wide, disappears.

It is time to bear witness to the uncoupling from the well burnished identity, the past triumphs and failures, realizing they no longer have any benefit.

It is time when the principle of impermanence sinks deep. Christ and Buddha had it right, nothing lasts. But now, profoundly understood.

It is time to stop needing to be seen through the eyes of others.

It is time to appreciate late age is kryptonite for the ego.

It is time to acknowledge the benedictions provided by so many people.

It is time to heed the unexpected yet great calling. Older to elder, age to sage, knowledge to wisdom, competition to compassion, righteousness to resolution, blame to responsibility, materialism to spiritualism.

It is time to own Gandhi’s covenant, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

It is time to say goodbye to the healthcare industry, which enabled me to walk my own Camino de Santiago trail - the route to find myself.

It is time for MBC Consultants Inc. established April 14th, 1984, to close its doors. Forty years has proven the point.

It is time to surrender to this higher calling of Contemporary Elder. To take on its mission to expand humanity in the world.

It is time to say farewell to the old and embark on the next chapter. But this time, realize I am the only one to write on these blank pages of the last chapters of my life.

It is time to say goodbye.

Final Notes – MBC Consultants Inc will be dissolved by May 1st. The Contemporary Elder Institute, it’s ever-growing Sangha, will continue its creative development.

As for me, I will become a Sole Proprietor, a 1099, as of May 1st. Our LinkedIn and other posts, podcasts, e-mail blasts on aging, ageism, new purpose, end of life, etc., will continue.

As T.S. Eliot wrote, “What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from.”

The new theme song:

The Contemporary Elder Retreat is designed to have participants “start all over again.” www.requestingwisdom.com/retreat

Next open Sangha call is April 19th. To join the call as a guest please go to

You are now the "old age" problem. But the list is getting pretty long. Right behind you, Markey, Blumenthal, Durbin, King, Cardin Risch, Grassley, and Sanders, all in their mid to late 70s and some in their early 80s. And let’s not forget Pelosi.

One area I have come to appreciate and continue to explore is language and its stunning impact. Arnold Siegel, Werner Erhard, and Fernando Flores were the first to open my eyes 45 years ago to the power of language.
